Warehouse Associate

The Warehouse Associate at Barber DME Supply Group is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations by accurately receiving, storing, handling, and distributing durable medical equipment and medical supplies while maintaining inventory integrity and meeting fulfillment timelines. This role ensures orders are picked, packed, and staged correctly for delivery or pickup, maintains a clean and organized warehouse environment, and follows all company policies, safety standards, and HIPAA compliance requirements to support efficient operations and high-quality patient and customer service.

Essential Duties

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately document incoming inventory, ensuring products meet quality and quantity standards.

  • Pick, pack, and stage customer orders for delivery or pickup according to company procedures.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through proper labeling, tracking, and storage of medical equipment and supplies.

  • Operate warehouse equipment (such as pallet jacks and hand trucks) safely and efficiently.

  • Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety and infection control standards.

  • Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles while ensuring proper handling of sensitive medical equipment.

  • Follow all HIPAA guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare supply handling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Perform inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure stock levels are accurate. Maintain inventory records to ensure medical supplies and equipment are properly tracked. Oversee the storage, handling, and organization of inventory to keep the warehouse running smoothly.

  • Product Knowledge: Knowledge on DME equipment, supplies, and basic usage instructions.

  • HIPAA Compliance: Maintain patient confidentiality and follow privacy and security regulations.

  • Packing & Shipping: Supervise packing of orders, ensuring that shipments are accurate and meet delivery timelines. Manage shipping and receiving, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders.

  • Warehouse Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.

  • Policy Adherence: Follow company procedures, safety guidelines, and infection control standards.

  • Problem Resolution: Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate when necessary.

  • Team Support: Assist with opening/closing duties and support daily store operations.

  • Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training to remain current on products and compliance requirements.

  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks to ensure timely service and operational efficiency.

  • Transfers & Deliveries: Coordinate and complete inventory transfers between warehouse locations. Deliver medical supplies to patients and stores within the DC, MD, and VA areas as required, ensuring careful handling and on-time delivery.

  • Warehouse Support: Respond to the inventory needs of store locations across the region, supporting them in managing stock and supplies. Ensure that warehouse operations are efficient, organized, and compliant with company standards and regulations.

Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.

    • Previous Warehouse experience

  • Preferred:

    • Previous experience in a DME, medical supply, or healthcare setting.

    • Knowledge of DME products and their applications.

    • Familiarity with insurance coverage, billing processes, and medical documentation

    • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

  • Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks such as carrying, loading, and unloading medical equipment.

    • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (such as forklifts or pallet jacks) may be required.

    • Prolonged periods of standing and walking

    • Ability to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and reaching

  • Flexible Hours
